Common Architecture

Step2Buy’s Virtual Shopping Mall (VSM) provides technology supporting 3-D modeling, giving the consumer the ability to purchase thousands of products in a virtual setting. Step2Buy technology features:

Free navigation through the 3D store in the same way customers experience shopping in everyday life

Quick and inexpensive preparation of 3D models for thousands of items

3D stores containing thousands of products viewable to the customer via an ordinary Internet connection (56K modem)

Software that operates on a home PC without strong hardware demands

Easy integration into an existing retail and/or e-commerce system

Support of a 3D image library that integrates with the customer database

Step2Buy’s VSM system is built by Client/Server technology and distributes between two types of nodes:  S2BClient Node and S2BServer Node.

S2BClient Node

S2BClient Node is installed on the end-user’s PC and is comprised of data and software. This node is based on the S2BNavigator.

S2BNavigator

S2BNavigator is the end user’s connection to the VSM. The S2BNavigator supports:

Navigation throughout the store

Processing of orders and collecting of payment

Communication directly with the S2BIntegrator to retrieve updated information and send completed orders

Creating individual customized advertisements in the store

Client Bonus Promotional Program processing

Searching of products

S2BServer Node

S2BServer Node is installed at the business site and utilizes the Step2Buy Database. The Server can be installed in one location or distributed between different locations. This Node is based on the S2BIntegrator and S2BDesigner.

S2BDesigner

S2BDesigner is the workplace for the graphic designer drawing the VSM. It allows creation of customized pavilions (halls) according to customer design and demands, preparation of quality images and advertisements, and proper placement inside the store. The main components of are:

Digital cameras and scanners with appropriate software for texture preparation

Pavilion editor for hall building and placement of goods

S2BLibrary of predefined elements for reducing the store creation time. These images include building contractions, standard trade equipment (e.g. shelves, refrigerators, advertisement objects, etc.)

Compiler for transmitting the completed store to S2BNavigator format

Set of diagnostic programs for checking the completed VSM

S2BIntegrator

S2BIntegrator is the S2BNode Administrator’s workplace. It includes components that are placed on one workstation, or that are distributed between different computers and people.  S2BIntegrator Matratzen allows to Administrator to manage all S2BNode mechanisms. The main components are:

S2BDatabase for keeping and managing data used on Server Node.  Oracle is recommended as the main database management system, however an SQL Server may be used instead

Integration modules connecting the S2BDatabase with Phuket the Customer Database that receives updated information and sends client orders

Internet Information Server supporting communication with clients Data Warehouse generating customer reports and allowing analyze of the system

S2B Data Base Management

S2B Product Administration workplace managing all stun guns named components. In addition to ordinary operation, it includes a set of program to define and check the VSM (e.g. Bonus Program definition, S2B Database integrity check, product specification editing, etc.)

The Core Problem

Online shopping has become a fairly efficient way for the consumer to purchase products, however it does not provide that “real-life” shopping experience with all its charm.

Nearly all e-commerce stores online today merely list products. Consumers spend an overwhelming amount of time going from page to page – searching, pointing and clicking for a product they want to add to their virtual shopping basket for eventual purchase.

In addition to consumer frustration, an important element of real-life shopping is not fully exploited online: impulse buying. Consumers like to roam the aisles, purchasing items that visually appeal to them.

Due to technology limitations, such as limited bandwidth and the lack of real-time interactive shopping, more than 75% of online consumers are overcome with frustration – they close their browsers while leaving their virtual shopping baskets behind… without making a purchase.

The Solution

Step2Buy has developed a unique and interactive 3D online shopping technology – the patent-pending Virtual Shopping Mall (VSM).

Using an efficient data transfer algorithm, Step2Buy’s VSM overcomes the critical problem of narrow bandwidth and Internet TCP/IP protocol that, until now, does not support real time interactive shopping.  The VSM fully simulates “real-life”, non-virtual shopping over a regular 56K modem.

The VSM facilities a store carrying more than 15,000 items, while preserving the characteristics and allure of a real mall. There is no longer a need for consumers to click back and forth from screen to screen and wait an endless amount of time for a page to load – the VSM is an entire store ‘under one roof’.  Best of all, Step2Buy’s VSM is user-friendly with a simple to navigate interface that does not require computer skills.

Step2Buy’s VSM is the only online shopping system allowing the customer to navigate seamlessly throughout a store, pushing his or her shopping cart up and down the aisles of the store, picking up products directly from the shelves.

The days of mundane and monotonous online shopping are gone!

Applied Market

Step2Buy’s VSM is the perfect solution for all retail stores:

Bookstores…

Supermarkets…

Toy Stores…

Drugstores…

Office-Supply Stores…

The VSM is also the solution for Internet Commerce Systems as well as Providers and Integrators of E-commerce software (e.g: Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Ariba etc).

The possibilities are endless!
